Lions International Peace Poster Contest

Mexico Mission
The 25-A contingent of 35 volunteers, including five from our club, spent a very busy week in Iguala. The group provided glasses to 6522 people who were bused in to an outdoor "tent city," set up for examinations and fitting of glasses. After landing in Mexico City, the Lions endured a four hour bus ride to Iguala, where they were provided with good accommodations in a hotel. Each day began at 7:30 am and usually went until 6:30 pm, or later, as people arrived for the gift of improved sight. The Lions were honored with a banquet and gifts on their last evening before the long trip home. The Chesterton Lions Club representatives were Mike and Robin Smith, Marlene Westergren, Jerry Ruge and Vince Kisala.
