The club holds fund raisers during the year to raise money to support various community projects and activities in the Emily, Outing and Fifty Lakes area. 

Some of our major events have been the Lions Annual Corn Feed, Brat Sales, Project New Hope Golf Tournament, Pork on a Stick & Children games at Emily Day, Christmas tree sales, Kids Ice Fishing, and an Easter egg Hunt. 

The Lakers Lions Club was started by 31 Charter Members in February 1982.  The sponsoring Club was the Remer Lions Club.  The Lion responsible for bringing the idea of a Lions Club to Emily, Outing and Fifty Lakes was Past Dist. Governor Lion Dick Waby from the Cuyuna Range Lions in Crosby.  Currently our membership is 42.
