Greetings Visitors!
The Foresthill Lions Club is a fun loving group of dedicated men and women out to improve the lives of those fortunate enough to live and work on the beautiful Foresthill Divide. We are blessed with spectacular scenery, stately pine trees and rushing rivers still sparkling with gold! We contribute to the betterment of the students at our elementary, middle and high schools in many ways.
To keep our town attractive, we seasonally plant and maintain flower boxes in the center of town proudly displaying fire buckets to honor our local firefighters who keep the town safe during our hot summer months. Our Club is actively involved in many events in Foresthill, including the Memorial Day and 4th of July Parades, our Heritage Festival, Car Show, Harvest Festival and Christmas Tree Lighting.
Our big fund-raising event of the year is our Seafood-a-Rama and Community Raffle held in February. Because seating is limited, everyone scrambles to get the 'Hottest Ticket in Town' for this popular event.
As new residents discover the peace and beauty of our neighborhood, we continue to increase our club membership with folks who are interested in service in our community. We were identified as one of the fastest growing clubs in our district .
We enjoy having visitations from other Lions Clubs. Please contact our Club Secretary or President to make your dinner reservations the week before the meeting you would like to attend. Bring a crowd....we have plenty of room!
As much as we enjoy the camaraderie of our Lions Club
members and all the activities we are involved in, we know we can always do more. Should you have ideas or recommendations for projects that would benefit our community, we'd love to hear from you.
Yours Sincerely in Service,
- Lion Ken Walker, President

WOW! Time is really flying as summer is nearly over and planning for two very important events has begun. It’s essential that all Lions Club members help, but are you ready? There are times when each of us would like to sit back, observe, have fun and enjoy the camaraderie.
My guess is all able bodied Lions are planning on making sure Grant’s Barbeque and the Seafoodarama continue to be events the Foresthill Community and other Lions Clubs want to join.
Grant’s Barbeque - Many of you probably don’t know that Lion George Grant sponsored and absorbed losses from this event for many years to get it started. More recently the club has been able to cover expenses when needed. This event has been very successful in getting many of us to decide to join Foresthill Lions.
This event historically is for Foresthill Lions to celebrate, have fun, invite friends/neighbors, and enjoy what God has made available to everyone living in Foresthill area. Are you planning to participate and invite others to join us? Help by buying tickets ASAP from Lion Walt Haverland.
Seafoodarama – Quote from Lion Scott Nelson “Well another successful Seafoodarama is behind us, and huge thanks to all who participated and made it the success it was.” The title of The Foresthill Lions ROAR afterwards was Seafoodarama 2010… It Came, It Was, and It Was Great.
This event is coming soon (Feb, ‘11) to the planning table & volunteers will be needed. Will you be ready when this happens? Looking at our membership many of you, like me, are still learning what it takes for the continued success of this great event. Not only is the event fun and the food great (verified by those visitors lucky enough to get tickets) but it continues to be our biggest fundraiser. Achieving our desired revenue goal for this event is going to require additional planning and effort with existing economic conditions.
You’re Needed – Triumph of these two very important events requires that all Lions Club members step up to the plate. An individual can hit a home run but victory requires participation of every team member. A leader is worthless without team members, but I am fortunate to know YOU will step up to the plate.
Looking forward to working alongside you to make these two events better than ever!
- Lion President Ken Walker
