Officers for Lion Year 2010-11

Welcome to the Lake Sumter Lions Club website. 
We are located in The Villages in Sumter County, Florida. 

The Club was chartered in December 2007 and we currently have 45 active members.

A Little History About Us:

Several Lion members served as "recruiters" and began soliciting new members from the area south of Lake Sumter Landing Market Square: taking the name for the new Branch Club from that location. 

 The Lake Sumter Lions Club began as a "Branch" of the Orange Blossom Gardens Lions Club in 2006. The objective of the new Branch was to offer Lionism to those residents in the Southern part of the Villages where the new construction of homes was taking place.

 As suspected, there were many Lions from the Northern States who welcomed the opportunity to continue their affiliation as Lions again in our area. We transferred several memberships, enlisted new neighbors, and aimed at the goal of 20 members in order to become a "stand-alone" Chartered Lions Club.

 In December of 2007, we achieved that goal, plus an additional six transfers from our parent club.

Our newly minted Lake Sumter Lions Club began fund raising activities which brought us public exposure and new prospective Lions.

Several community service projects added further awareness of our Club’s activities and objectives.
