ABERDEEN, WASHINGTON LIONS CLUB District 19 G-3 celebrated with Lions club Past President & Melvin Jones Fellow, Gene Schermer, who has been honored by the trustees of Grays Harbor College by naming the new instruction building after the long time instructor and dean . Dr. Schermer, with the college from 1962 to 1992, served for eight years as Dean of Instruction and Vice President after twenty-two years as instructor in the chemistry department. After retiring from the College in 1992 he served one complete year as interim president of Columbia Basin College in Moses Lake, Washington.

Announced by College President, Dr. Ed Brewster, that the new building would be named: the “Gene Schermer Instructional Building” was truly a great honor for the life-long educator and long time Lions club member.
