1ST POKER NIGHT A SUCCESS

On Saturday November 21st the club hosted its first ever poker night.  With 21 players in attendance the night was a success.  Thanks to Lion Chub, Lion Al and Lion Kim for joining us at the event.

Below Lion Brian presented $440 to the winner of the event.  Jason (a former player of the Agincourt Lions Minor Hockey League) drove in from Guelph to play in this event.   This was a non alcoholic event, however  pop, chips and snacks were provided to the players at no cost. The club still managed to raise over $300 through voluntary donations.  Having had such a successful night January 30th has been penciled in for a 2nd Poker Night with intentions to provide the players with some form of a hot meal as well.

Want to attend the next event?  Contact anyone of the lions members for more details.  Don't play poker?  We could always use some help setting up and serving drinks and food.  Special thanks to Michelle for spending the night and providing your much needed assistance.

A Brand New Lions Year and a Brand New Lion!

With the mark of our 65th Anniversary the Agincourt Lions kicked off our year with a historic event.  For the first time in club history we have a father - son combination.  Lion Shawn Linton was introduced by his sponsor/father Lion Brian Linton PDG at the clubs annual season opening corn roast.

1st Annual Don Hardinge Memorial Golf Tournament

What a way to honour a GREAT friend and Lion.  The club hosted its first annual memorial golf tournament on May 30th 2009 at Remington Parkview Golf Course.  The day went off without a hitch.  The weather was great, the course was fantastic and the cheque presentation was even better.  Lion Brain and Lion Shawn presented a cheque to David and Bev from the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides in the amount of $10,000.
