Club History

The Almont Lions Club was chartered on March 8, 1944.  The sponsoring club was the Romeo Lions Club.  We have served the Almont Area continously since that date.  The Almont Lions Hall is located adjacent to the Almont Community Park, and we invite citizens to visit us on our meeting dates.  We have  sponsored a Lions Branch Club, the Almont/Dryden Lioness Club, which meets on the 1st & 3rd Mondays in the hall at 7:00 PM.  The relationship between the Almont Lions Club and the Almont/Dryden Lioness Branch Club is one of total cooperation.  The clubs meet separately and have their own agendas, but both clubs are very supportive of functions sponsored by the other club.  We currently, February 2011, are in the process of forming a youth group - called the HOPE LEO Club.  HOPE for Helping Other People Excel.  This is a club for young people 12 to 18 years old.  They meet in the Almont Lions Hall on the Second (2nd) and Fourth (4th) Wednesdays of each month.  We welcome youth from the surrounding communities as well as Almont and Dryden.
