Breast Center Launch

The club was invited as civil society partner of The Medical City Clark in launching its Breast Center last Friday, October 21.

As the first one stop shop breast center manned by competent surgeons and radiologists in the field of oncology in Central Luzon, the state-of-the-art facility is specially designed for ambulatory care of women at risk of developing breast cancer or those already diagnosed.  

In line with the celebration of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month every October, the event helps increase awareness on prevention, diagnosis, cure & treatment.  

Representing the club is Lion Pearlie Flores with PDG Imelda 'Edda' Flores of the Quezon City Kalayaan LC.

Sight For Kids Orientation and Workshop

The club, represented by its Sight For Kids (SFK) Chairman Lion Tim Maglaqui, participated in the district seminar for Sight for Kids last October 20 at the District 301-D2 Office, Lions Building, Bernardo Park, Cubao, Quezon City. The workshop was rendered by Dr. Zenaida Mamaclay through the efforts of DC Dr. Mila De Vera.

Sight For Kids (SFK) is a school based program of the Lions Clubs International Foundation that mobilizes partnerships with local schools to provide eye health education, high quality vision screenings and referral access to professional eye care and treatment, including eyeglasses for millions of children worldwide. It aims to address undetected and easily-correctible cases of refractive error (nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism) in order to lessen cases of visual impairment and blindness in children. 

The club plans to roll out SFK in its jurisdiction toward the later half of 4Q 2016.  Preparations for screening and training are underway.

Joint Lions Clubs Induction and Anniversary

President Anthony Angeles led the club in its induction of officers and members jointly with other Lions clubs last October 14, 2016, at the Grand Ballroom of the Quezon City Sports Club.

The club welcomed Lions Timothy Maglaqui, Julita Tolentino, and Deneek Tolentino to its fold. Club officers likewise took their oath of office.

The affair not only consisted of the induction and anniversary of the joint Lions clubs, but the first (1st) anniversary of Serving Our Underprivileged & Less-fortunate Group, Inc. as well.  SOUL Group, Inc. is the foundation formed by the joint Lions clubs for the purpose of expanding their philanthropic endeavors and charitable activities.

The guest of honor and speaker was Hon. Atty. Dante Gierran, Chief of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), who also inducted SOUL Group, Inc. officers and members. PID Enrique Lim rendered an inspirational message. District 301-D2 Governor Alberto De Guzman, 1VDG Rosalily De Lara, and 2VDG Remigio Pangan likewise facilitated the induction of Lions clubs members & officers and delivering their respective messages, too.

The evening was doubly memorable as the Angeles City Clark Balibago LC marked its fifteenth (15th) anniversary, having been chartered in November 02, 2001; although its precursor - the Angeles City Balibago LC was chartered way back in 1971.

With President Anthony in attendance were: PDG Sol Flores, VP Claire Germain, Sec. Pearlie Flores, Treas. Marivic Soriano-Angeles, Membership Chair. Kevin Sol Flores, and Lions Janine Bravo, Arbin Salunga, & Ricky Caoili.

Close to three hundred (300) guests attended the affair from across the Multiple District from various clubs from around the country.

Livelihood Project site visit

President Anthony Angeles led the club in visiting and observing its livelihood project in Barangay Mabiga, Mabalacat City, Pampanga last September 26, 2016. 

The 50 beneficiaries learned how to repair and reassemble washing machines as part of the Domestic Appliances component of the free technician course. The students will still proceed to learn about computer, cellphone, CCTV, and laptop repairs before graduating.

This activity, led by the Angeles City Clark Balibago LC and Pampanga Capitol LC, is made possible through Serving Our Underprivileged & Less-fortunate (SOUL) Group, Inc. and local partners: City Government of Mabalacat, Mabalacat Multi-Sectroal Alliance, Balacat News, and Absolutely Yoneek.

Accompanying the Club President were PDG Sol & PDG Imelda Flores, PZC Marivic Soriano-Angeles, PZC Pearlie & PZC Kevin Sol Flores, PP David Van Zandt, Dir. Ricky Caoili, and Lion Juliet Tolentino.

Club Meeting - September 18, 2016

The club held its monthly meeting presided over by President Anthony Angeles at Icebergs, SM City Clark.  In attendance were (l-r) Timothy Maglaqui, David Van Zandt, PDG Imelda 'Edda' Flores, PDG Sol Flores, Janine Bravo, Arbin Salunga, Sec. Pearlie Flores, and Treas. Marivic Soriano-Angeles.

Induction & Anniversary - Marikina City LC

Lions Ricky Caoili, Tim Maglaqui, PDG Sol, Pearlie, and Kevin Flores represented the club last August 27, 2016 in witnessing the relinquishment and turnover of power from outgoing Pres. Irene 'Bheng' Benectio to incoming Pres. Lilia Suzette 'Lizette' Piñon.

Guest of honor and speaker is Past International Director Michael S. So, 451PMJF.  PDG Santiago 'Santi' S. Lim conducted the charging rites and Gov. Alberto De Guzman administered the oath of club officers.

The celebration, held in the Marikina Convention Center, marks the club's 3rd Anniversary. Congratulations!

Sight Saving Month Launch

The club was invited as civil society partner of The Medical City Clark in launching Sight Saving Month on Monday, August 15.

A symposium on Dry Eye Syndrome and Diabetic Retinopathy was given by opthalmologists to those in attendance and the 80 beneficiaries were subsequently treated to free Eye Refraction, Fundus Photo, and Opthalmologist Consults.

Free check-ups will continue until August 26 free of charge, all participants must be pre-registered, which can be coursed through our page. The undertaking is done in consonance with the Department of Health as it marks Sight Saving Month this year.

Reading Glasses Donation

August is sight saving month.  For this Lion Year, the club donated last August 09, Tuesday, 200 pieces of reading glasses of various optical grades.  This will benefit the residents of L&S Village, Angeles City.

Handing over the donation is President Anthony Angeles with Treasurer Marivic, and Dir. Arbin Salunga.  Receving the glasses on behalf of the L&S Homeowners Association is Mrs. Marcia Balingit-Arceo.

The distribution will be done on August 11 on the occasion of the homeowners' Medical-Dental-Opthalmo mission in the area. 

Induction & Anniversary - Tagaytay City La Prairie (Host) LC

Past President Kevin Sol Flores represented the club, last July 16, 2016, in witnessing the relinquishment and turnover of power from outgoing Pres. Commodore Amado Sanglay (Ret.) to incoming Pres. Alfredo Bendo.

Guest of honor and speaker is incumbent District 301-A2 Governor Susan Rossana Santillana who espoused her theme: One Team, One Family.  1VDG Marlan Manguba administered the induction rites. Likewise witnessing the awarding, turnover and induction is PID Enrique Lim.

The celebration, held in the Hotel Dominique, marks the club's 7th Anniversary. Congratulations!

Livelihood Project Launch: Domestic Appliances, Cellphones, Computer Technician Courses

Joint Lions clubs launched last July 04, 2016 the Livelihood Project for free Domestic Appliances, Cellphones, and Computer Technician Courses for indigents of the Northville Resettlement, Calulut, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.  The Angeles City Clark Balibago LC and the Pampanga Capitol LC are the lead clubs of this initiative.

In partnership with the Sangguniang Barangay of the locality, selected indigents will earn the proficiency and competence to be able to carry out repairs for a living, thus giving them a source of income, livelihood.

International President's Banquet

The MD 301 State Council of Governers held a banquet in honor of International Bob Corlew who visited the Philippines fresh from his installation at the 99th International Convention in Fukuoka, Japan.  

President Corlew delivered his message of greetings and invited Lions of the Philippines to answer the call of his theme, 'New Mountains to Climb.'

On the sidelines, the Angeles City Clark Balibago LC presented to Council Chairperson PDG Rotillo Soriano its bid to host the 69th MD 301 Lions State Convention on May 2018 in Angeles City - Clark Freeport who acknowledge receipt in behalf of the MD 301 State Council.

Held in the Pandanggo and Polkabal Ballrooms of the Manila Hotel last July 01, 2016, assessment was PHP 2,000.00.

Club Meeting - June 8, 2016

The club led by its President Anthony Angeles held its first meeting in preparation for Lion Year 2016-2017 at Café Noelle, SM City Clark, Malabañas, Angeles City.

67th MD 301 Lions State Convention, Baguio City

The club participated in the recently concluded 67th MD 301 Lions State Convention in Baguio City.  Held last May 19-22, 2016, members participated in the plenary sessions, seminars, parade, election, bazaar, and Governor's Ball.
