LCIF Sight First SF-1645 Low Vision Project is being executed under leadership of Ankara Maltepe Lions Club to build capacity and deliver training and educations programs.

Lions raised awareness within the project partners, patients, families and professionals. When we first met Low Vision Center, the centers had very limited capacity and equipment.  Now the center is located to new facilities, with extensively better equipment. The facilities Lions Clubs delivered helped the Low Vision Center to bio-retina implant surgeries.

Seminars for educators and health professionals delivered in 5 cities. School for Blind screened in participating cities. Monthly family reunions organized to develop solidarity between patient families. Families of new born educated for eye health.

Thanks to Lions awareness services Low Vision Center is now a rising star of the faculty. We are proud with Lions role in this success story of the one and only Low Vision Center in the country.

WHO recommends one Low Vision Center for each 10 million population. A country of 75 million population with aging generation needs more than one Low Vision center.

Lions will not stop here. Right after project closure we will start working on opening new Low Vision centers in Turkey. We are committed to Low Vision and Blindness prevention programs.
