Members of the Ardmore AL/TN Lions Club conducted a free screening for children between the ages of one year and six years at Wee Care Learing Center located in First Baptist Church in Ardmore, AL.
Thirty-four children were screened with a SureSightTM Vision Screener which was recently purchased by the Ardmore Lions Club. One of the major commitments of the Lions Clubs International is the elimination of preventable and reversible blindness. Low vision or blindness may be prevented if such conditions as anisometropia, astigmatism, hyperopia/high farsightedness, and myopia are identified and treated in children between the ages of one year and seven years.
Lions club members who volunteered their time at the screening included Ardmore LIons Club President Mike Magnusson, District Governor Frank Young, Shara Flacy, Executive Director of Tennessee Lions Charities Lynn Wilhoite, Ramona Flacy, Bonnie Mashburn, Dwight Mashburn, Louise Coffman, Diana Fowler and Ann Young.
Lions are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 205 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world.
