EMERGENCY GIFT-GIVING AND FEEDING TO THE AETAS (December 2011)

The Baggao Lions were awakened by a group text from their club secretary informing them to bring old clothes, toys, and other give aways at Lion Chinie Tomas residence, as the club treasurer rushed to the store to buy groceries and foods to prepare ASAP.

It was indeed an emergency and unplanned gift giving and feeding to the group of Aetas, as they dropped by at Lion Chinie Tomas' residence asking for some hot coffee to fill their stomach. The group, headed by their Governor or Chieftain, went to San Jose, for xmas carolling, after a postponed gift giving by a certain group yesterday (due to mis-communication perhaps), so as to have something to bring home for Christmas. Grocery items, like canned goods, pansit canton, sugar, salt, milo, biscuits etc given. There were more than enough clothings, toys, medicines, slippers, calendars given ... Excess packages were all handed to their chieftain or Governor for distribution to those who weren't able to join them.

Feeding them with a hot Lomi satisfied their empty stomach. It was such a successful gift-giving, tho unplanned ... The Baggao Lions Club roared after realizing that they did it - in less than 2 hours!!!
Such a great morning to start a day!!!

BLC JOINS RHU AND CVMC IN THE BLOOD DONATION ACTIVITY  (September 2011)
The Baggao Lions Club partnered with CVMC Bld Bank Personnel and the RHU-Baggao in their Blood Letting Activity last Sept 30, 2011. It was actually a 4-day activity which happened in Tallang Baggao (Sept 28 and 29, 2011), in San Jose Baggao (Sept 30, 2011) and in Poblacion Baggao (October 1, 2011) but BCL only participated on the first 3 days.

Onlythree (3) of the five(5) willing Lion donors were bled namely Lion Danilo Alejandro, Lion Eleazar Juan, and Lion Rudolph Miranda. Some students, patients and staff of some Lions were also encouraged to donate. A BLC Blood Acct was thus created. A total of 152 donors were bled in Tallang, from Sept 28-29 while 103 donors were bled in Sanjose Baggao last Sept 30.

Some flyers were also printed and distributed to the donors as part of our info drive about LCI and BLC.
