Meetings

The Berlin Lions are dedicated to the help of those who are poorly sighted or blind. Our fundraising is focused on giving to those organizations that provide vision services. In addition, the Lions serve those in need in our area.  Many of our projects for the coming year continue a long tradition of service. Others are new ideas. These activities include:

White Cane:  Our members ask the public directly for monetary contributions at local stores. Dates for 2012 to be scheduled.

Glasses:  Used glasses are collected for those in need. Our collection bin is located at the Berlin Shop Rite.

Fourth of July: The Lions construct and staff a refreshment tent at the Berlin Park. Low cost hot dogs, water, and soda are provided after the annual parade. Members of the military, veterans, police, and fire are not charged.

BEEF and Beer: Benefit dinner to be held at the Moose Lodge. Date of March   31st, 2012.   Tickets are now on sale!

Flea Market: The public is invited to sell their used  “treasures” at the Kmart parking lot for a fee paid to the Berlin Lions. Tentative date of May 12th 2012.

Leo Clubs: A version of the club in order for youth to participate in the Lions’ mission. Two clubs, the “upper and lower,” are in the beginning stages at the Archway School of Atco, NJ.  The Archway School serves students with learning challenges.

Other Activities:  Sale of mints, 50/50’s, Casino bus trip, collection of cell phones, glasses, ink cartridges, coats (for the needy),other fundraising…
