Our Community

Our club continues to assist the Blair community as a sponsor of the fitness walking-biking trail through parts of Blair.  The Blair Lions Club has helped the Washington County Recycling center since it began.  The club volunteers 6 or more times each year.  The Blair Lions club has many other functions and activities that have provided ways to give back to the community.  The annual golf tournament and sales of Colorado peaches have raised countless dollars, which have been returned to the residents of Blair and Washington County.  Park shelters, sponsorship of the Boy Scouts Troop #143, eye exams and glasses for students in the Blair Schools and scholarships are just a few of the ways "WE SERVE".

Our Nebraska

Part of our membership dues, that our club pays into the Nebraska Lions Foundation, goes to the Mobile Screening Unit and its driver. This unit travels the highways and byways of our great state providing many schools, organizations and communities with health screening services that would otherwise not be possible.  The Blair Lions Club has been a proud sponsor of our state run camp for the visually impaired, which reaches to all corners of Nebraska and beyond.  Our club is also committed to the Nebraska Lions Foundation and the Nebraska Eye bank.  These two organizations provide valuable services for individuals from Blair to Valentine, from Omaha to Chadron, giving you another way that shows how "WE SERVE".

Our World

The Blair Lions Club is a part of a world-wide organization that stretches to all parts of the globe.  Its most important goal is to rid the world of "preventable" blindness.  In addition to the "SightFirst" program, the international organization is committed to researching and finding a cure for diabetes and other sight debilitating diseases.  Blair Lions Club members Dr. Dave and Lori Johnson continue to train leaderdog puppies.  This is another way to show how "WE SERVE".
