May 9, 2012, fellow Lion and friend, Larry Ericksmoen, was awarded the Melvin Jones Humanitarian Award by District Governor, David Schaefer, for his long term dedication to Lions causes both locally and internationally.
“While I have known Lion Larry for over 4 years, his dedication and continuous hard work to all Lions projects is well over 30 years and is most worthy of recognition. Larry has been an inspiration to us all with his willingness to work and support projects for the benefit of Lions Projects.”
-Loren Rausch, Blair Lions Club President
Most recently, Lion Larry was seen with his 2 foot rake and silage fork cleaning the Blair Riverside Memorial Park of debris with his fellow Lions without fanfare or accolade after a big storm.
Lions are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 205 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world.
