Meetings

The Bloomingdale Lions Club assists people and organizations who need support in the areas of vision and hearing, diabetes, Alzheimers, Autism, homeless, victims of domestic abuse, social services and community support.

Some of the organizations we support are Guild for the Blind, Spectrios Institute (Diecke), Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind, Hadley School for the Blind, Camp Lions (Summer camp for kids who are Blind or have Low Vision and Deaf or Hard of Hearing), American Diabetes Association, Canine Companions for Independence, Leader Dogs (for the Blind and Deaf/hard of hearing), People's Resource Center, Children's Home and Aid Society, Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans, Family Shelter Services, Easter Seals, American Cancer Society, St. Baldrick's Foundation (kids’ cancer), Bloomingdale Character Counts, Illinois Eye Bank, K-9 Companions for Independence, Bloomingdale Township Food Pantry, Neighborhood Food Pantry, Child’s Voice, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for kids in the court system), Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and others. We regularly receive requests for support from groups (and individuals) and often add people and organizations to our lists. For example, we pay for vision and hearing exams for people who cannot afford to pay, corrective lenses and hearing aids, the cost of sending kids to Camp Lions.
