YOUTH OF THE YEAR DISTRICT FINAL-24th MARCH 2012.
The Brisbane Ekibin Lions representative Naseera Naeem of MacGregor State High advanced to the District Final Level. In School, she is an Academic School Captain and is Queenslands' Youth Parliament member for Sunnybank. She also takes a keen interest in sports activities, and participates in athletics, aqua aerobics, swimming and cross country. Her speech topic at the Finals, was - The heat of conflict and how to put out fires.

STATE ELECTION DAY -LIONS BBQ STALL -23rd MARCH 2012.
The Lions of Brisbane Ekibin ran a BBQ staff at the Yeronga State School Polling Station to provide refreshment and sustenance to the hungry voters, possibly free of worry, after casting thier vote, to choose a worthy government to govern the State of Queensland for the next four years.

SENIORS BUS TRIP - 18TH MARCH 2012.
The poppular annual Bus Trip organised by the Brisbane Ekibin Lions Club to the northern suburbs and beach was eagerly awaited by the Seniors in the Yeronga and nearby suburbs. Needless to say the bus had a full load and all had a grand time.

EKIBIN LIONS INSPIRATIONAL YOUTH AWARDS - 26th October 2011.
Four young ladies were honoured by the Lions of Brisbane Ekibin for being an inspiration to all and sundry. The awards were presented by the DG Lion Lorraine McKenzie on the 26th October 2011. The Ladies were Tessa Boyd of the Yeronga State School, Lien-Diem Phan of Our Lady's College Annerley, Lisa Campbell of Mansfield State High (She unfortunately could not attend the presentation) and Jessica Regazzoli of the Yeronga Services Club .

BARBAQUE STAND AT CHEVY CAR SWAP MEET - 14th August 2011.
The Lions of Brisbane Ekibin ran a BBQ Stand at the Chevy Car Swap on Sunday the 14th August 2011. It was enjoyable but hard yakka from morning, feeding a crowd of over 1000 people. Collections for the day were good and it will help the Lions finance many needy charities.

YOUTH OF THE YEAR - 9th February, 2011.
The Brisbane Ekibin Lions promote and sponsor the YOUTH OF THE YEAR contest. The contest commences at Club level with contestants drawn from the local high schools vying with each other and the OVERALL WINNER proceeding to Zone > Regional > State levels and finally to a National competition. In 2011, JADE BAKER of OUR LADY'S COLLEGE, ANNERLEY was adjudged the winner in the OVERALL CLASS and ROLLSY PONMATTAM MADASSEY of MacGregor State High in the PUBLIC SPEAKING competition.
This year we had students from Yeronga State High, Our Lady's College Annerley and Mansfield State High - FIVE IN ALL and all ladies. The competition had the sponsorship of the National Australia Bank, this year too. The Chairperson for the evening was Lion Carol Da Costa Roque, the latest member addition to the Ekibin Lions, and she did a magnificient job of organising the competition. Thanks Carol and as a special reward the Club will allow you to be in charge next year too.

STOP PRESS 1st March 2011 - Jade was successful at the Zone Level of the Youth of the Year competition held last week, and now advances to the Regionals to be held on the 12th March 2011. The Ekibin Lions wish her the very best as a win here, catapaults her to the State Finals. Its been many moons since the Ekibin Lions had a contestant at this level - the last was in 1988.
BRISBANE EKIBIN LIONS SPONSOR SCOUTS TO 22nd AUSTRALIAN JAMBOREE - January 2010
The Brisbane Ekibin Lions Club sponsored the costs of attending the once in three year JAMBOREE, of ten worthy SCOUTS from the local area. The scouts have enjoyed themselves, learned heaps on how to conduct themselves honourably and be better citizens of this vast rock that we all inhabit. A total of 13,000 odd scouts attended the Jamboree over a week long period and it was held at CATARACT SCOUT PARK (on the banks of the Cataract Lake) in the State of NSW.
