JUST WHAT HAVE THE LIONS DONE IN THE BOBCAYGEON COMMUNITY?

It's a question we often get asked!

Well, here is a snapshot of what Bobcaygeon & District Lions Club Members have been doing in the community through 2018:

  • Bobcaygeon Helps Food Bank Emergency Delivery Service - over 30 deliveries made up to November 19, 2018
  • Vision Screening of 40+ children at Bobcaygeon Public School.
  • Vision Screening of 50+ Children at Archie Stouffer Elementary School, Minden.
  • The PetValu Walk For Dog Guides, which Lions ran in Bobcaygeon on May 27th, and which raised close to $13,000 for the Lions Foundation Of Canada Dog Guides
  • World Environment Day on June 5th. Lions members were out on the streets of Bobcaygeon, collecting garbage from the roadside, bushes and ditches along several town roads. We picked up enough trash to fill over 18 garbage bags, which were later picked up by The City of Kawartha Lakes.
  • Bobcaygeon Lions ran the bar at the "Unlock The Summer" Blues Concert, held at the Arena on June 9th
  • Craft Sales - held in the Lions Hall during the summer months.
  • Monday Night BINGO - started in early May and scheduled to run until December 3rd.
  • Communities In Bloom - Lions volunteered to help with the town clean up in support of Bobcaygeon's entry into the 2018 Competition.
  • Fundraising BBQs - held outside ValuMart in Bobcaygeon, and other locations like Settlers Village and at the 2018 Thunder In The Hills event in Minden, Ontario.
