BRADENTON LIONS CLUB BUSINESS MEETING

PDG Chet Hall  introduced 35-I District Governor Dean Hess who presided over the meeting.

Governor Hess presented his goals for his term.   He focused on the theme:  One Team, One Mission and presented a district membership goal of 1500 members.   He also encouraged the club to participate in the “Plant a Million Trees” goal set by the Lions International President.  

After Governor Hess’ presentation an honorarium to the Florida Lighthouse for the Blind in his name was presented by Lion President Joel Downer.

The Govenor’s meeting was adjourned.

 

Lion President Joel Downer reconvened the business meeting.

Lion Cathy Walton, a candidate for the District 35 I nomination for MD 35 International Director, spoke to the club regarding her qualifications.  

 

Zone Meeting Report: Lion Joel Downer…. The zone meeting was hosted by the Bradenton Lions Club.   Club reports were presented by the Zone Chair, Lion John Geary.  

 

District 35-I Special Convention/ Cabinet Meeting: Lion Chip Kunka…. The cabinet meeting is scheduled for November 6, at the SEGDS.   The theme is a Western Bar-B-Q,   The two important items on the agenda is a revision of the by-laws to allow the selection of the District 35 I candidate for MD 35 International Director, and if the revision is passed, the vote for the candidate.  A board meeting was held immediately after the business meeting to determine the Bradenton Lions Club’s choice.

 

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS:  Most of the Committee Reports will be deferred to the November 15th meeting.

•Reports of this past weekend’s efforts will be presented next week

•Need help for this coming weekend because members will be at Cabinet meeting and selling Lights for Sight at Peridia Craft Fair.

 

Peace Poster/Essay   Judging will be @ 6:00 November 6, @ SEGDS downtown Bradenton (immediately prior to the board meeting)

–They are ready to be sold…. Remember, to explain that they are a reward for a charitable donation of $5.00 to the Bradenton Lions Club
