In the Brazoria area, the Brazoria Lions Club provides eye examinations & glasses for children in need, an annual college scholarship, disaster assistance, medical equipment (hospital beds, wheel chairs, walkers, crutches, etc.), wheel chair ramps, help fund the Brazoria Library, provide city street Christmas lights, a park with playground equipment & pavillian, a pavilian at the American Legion Hall park, a walking track in the school area, we sponsor Boy Scouts & Little League Baseball, furnish fans to the Cool Fan Club to be used by the elderly, help provide lunches for needy children out of school for the summer as well as other community services as needed.such as building a porch as part of a community rebuilding of an elderly persons home. An ongoing project is providing and maintining 200 flags, flying permanently 24/7 (until the our troops come home) in Brazoria, in honor of our troops.
In Texas, we help maintain the Lions Camp for handicapped and diabetes children at Kerrville and we sponsor and provide transportation for Brazoria children to the camp. We provided a trailer load of clothes at Galveston for Hurricane Ike relief. We also help sponsor the American Cancer Society "Walk For Cancer" in Angleton with a club donation, memorials, etc. and we provide bag-pipers to lead the march.
On a national & International level, we help Lions Club International in the fight to eliminate blindness.
