What is the age range ?

You are welcome whatever your age. In Cardiff the greatest proportion of members are retired but this is balanced by a few younger members who we would like to grow. 

Do I have to live in Cardiff? 

No. Our group is made up of members from all over Cardiff 

Is it a Charity ?

Yes we are registered with the Charities Commission ( Registration No 19962 ). This means we keep our fund raising strictly separate from our membership and administration costs, which we pay for through fees.

Is it expensive ?

Our annual fee is £84 per year , in other words less then £2 per week,  we think thats good value.

As a potential member you would not be required to pay any fees until you found out that you would be happy to join us.

Do I have to be a professional person to join Lions ?

No. Lions welcome everyone from all backgrounds and walks of life, male or female, whether you are working or retired, providing you share in our objectives - to serve the local community.

How many people are there in a Lions Club ?

Usually between 15 and 35, although Clubs do vary. Cardiff currently has about 10 members, but with people moving on each year it is essential to replace them. We actively seek new members.

What about my family and friends ?  

We work on the principle that partners, family and friends  can support all fund raising activities and socials. You and your family will be welcome to our Lions community in Cardiff.

Is Lions just fund raising ?

Certainly not. We have a variety of community service activities e.g..... supporting youth, the elderly, those with disabilities and health. Lions International raised approximately £100 m last year with the intention of eradicating preventable blindness throughout the world ?

How much time will I have to commit to Lions ?

The commitment is only what you choose to make it. We find, as with most things in life, the more you can put in, the more you will get out. Most members spend around an average of 2 hours a week on activities with involved with the Lions.
