Here is what the Carlton Area Lions Club did in 2010:
· Met twice a month to plan projects, conduct business and enjoy camaraderie.
· Sponsored the Chili contest at WinterFest
· Donated time to serve a Steak Fry at the V.F.W.
· Donated $500 to the International Diabetes Foundation
· Donated $250 to the Leader Dogs For The Blind
· Donated $250 to the Multiple District 5M Hearing Foundation
· Donated $2500 to the Spring Point project to fight diabetes
· Renewed the Charter of the Carlton Cub Scouts Pack 177
· Conducted the Spring and Fall Senior Citizen’s Bingo Nights
· Donated $200 to the VFW Auxiliary for Christmas baskets
· Served The Athletic Banquet of Carlton High School
· Performed Fall & Spring Highway Clean-up along 2 miles of I-35
· Gave $200 to the Carlton Scholarship Fund
· Held an fund-raising Auction at Carlton Daze and raised over $3000
· Drove Carlton’s antique fire truck in the Carlton Daze parade
· Raised $7500 at our Carlton County Fair Lions food booth
· Given a $50 Bond to the 4-H club
· Donated $500 to the Carlton High School National Honor Society
· Rang the bell for The Salvation Army
· Gave $200 to the Human Development Center for their holiday food baskets
· Donated $500 to a local family who lost their home in a fire
· Donated $500 to the local Food Shelf for Christmas Baskets
· Put up and took down the Carlton Christmas decorations and lights
· Paid for four subscriptions for LARGE TYPE Readers Digest for Inter-Faith Care Center
· Paid for eye exams and glasses for six needy students of Carlton and four adults
· Collected numerous pairs of eyeglasses to be recycled and given to needy people
· Held fund-raising raffles of a North Shore Get-a-way
· Donated $250 to the Lighthouse For The Blind
· Donated $100 to the Minnesota Lions Eye Bank
· Gave $200 to the Boy Scouts of America
· Donated $500 to the Carlton Chamber of Commerce for the Christmas Lighting fund
· Donated $150 towards the Halloween party for kids at the Inter-Faith Care Center
· Donated money to SightFirst II, a world-wide effort by Lions International to eradicate preventable blindness
