Cayucos Lions Club Projects and Activities

Donations:  The Cayucos Lions Club donated over $19,000 (click here for details) during the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2015 in support of local events, schools, organizations and community projects including:

  • Firefighter Association
  • SLO County Parks for free swim (click here)
  • Cayucos Library
  • Cayucos Chamber of Commerce
  • In partnership with the Cayucos Lioness club, scholarships for high school graduates from Cayucos (click here to see a few thank you notes)
  • Sheriff's Camp for teenagers
  • Central Coast Soccer Club (click here)

Independence Day Parade:  The Cayucos Lions Club organizes, manages and hosts this fun annual event.  Cayucos Lions Club members also prepare and serve food and refreshments at the corner lot of N Ocean Avenue and D Street (should return to the Cayucos Veteran's Memorial Hall in 2024) during the Independence Day celebration.

Highway Pickup: Once a month (2nd Saturday, 9:00 am) a group of Lions Club members pick up debris along the inland side of Highway 1 from the south Cayucos off ramp to Chaney Avenue. (click here)

Free Grammar School Student Eye Exams:  Free eye exams are offered to students at Cayucos Grammar School.

Cayucos Veteran's Memorial Hall (Vets Hall): The Cayucos Lions Club manages the use and maintenance of the Vets Hall facility which is an excellent venue for meetings and social gatherings.  Proceeds from the use of the Vets Hall are used to support projects within the community. The Vets Hall reconstruction project has a planned completion date of early 2024.

Toys for Tots: Every December, the Cayucos Lions Club members either give toys or contiubute money to a gift fund to help children in our community during the Chistmas Holiday season.
