Cokato Lions Social Meeting 12-5-11 Dassel Ergot Center
-Lion Pres Brad called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm, 24 Lions present.
-Pledge/Prayer/and fining ($25.10 in fines). Catered meal followed.
**Program- Lion Rick Johnson and wife Marcia talked about their daughter Katie who, as a young girl, was a direct recipient of incredible care at the U of MN Lions Eye Bank. Katie has a rare eye condition, and through the work of the Lions Eye Bank- Katie fought hard to battle this through her teen years. Marcia and Rick are appreciative for all the Lions do. Thank you!
Business:
- Benefit Concert this Sunday (12-11-11) at 2 pm. Please be at DCHS PAC at 1 pm to help set up and bring food items/toy. We have advertised this in church bulletins, the radio, newspaper, fliers, our sign, emails, and word of mouth; we are hoping for a good turnout. Motion Shannon, 2nd Scott that we purchase six pointsettia’s to decorate the PAC stage, CARRIED. Lion Mike volunteered to introduce Ashleigh Still.
- Silent Santa- distribution 12-17-11 after 7 a.m. at the Baptist Church. Lion Mike gave update and asked for help picking up Friday, 12-16-11 and drop off at church by 6 pm.
- January 7th Christmas Tree pickup (for food items); 10 am- noon in both towns. Lion Abe will get this in the paper.
- Governors night is set for March 5, 2012 at Dassel Site.
- Zone Meeting Dec 8th (this Thursday); Lions Mike H., Duane, and Rick will represent us at the Maple Lake Legion; thank you Lions’.
- Mid-Winter Convention: January 20th/21st- see Lion Abe if interested in attending.
- New Pin- Lion Scott showed new design he had help making via former Lion Milt. Pin looks great, has been ordered, and should be here by Mid-Winter.
- Holiday Party for our Club: January 7, 2012 at the Ergot Building in Dassel: 6-7 pm Social, and 7pm we will have A-M roster names bring appetizers and L-Z a dessert. Come for food, fun, and Karoake!
- Lion Alvie made a donation to our scholarship fund, thanks Lion Alvie!!
- Business Meeting- Monday, Dec 19th at Lion Dave Pitchfords home, Dassel- 7 pm.
Lion Gus won Pig-n-Poke
Lion Rick will host January Business Meeting at his home on Lake Washington.
