Club History

The Comox Valley Lions Club was chartered November 7th, 1966 ( #7970 ) sponsored by the Campbell River Lions Club.  The Charter Night was held on January 14, 1967 with the Charter President being Lion Ray Lawley.  At that time we were part of District 19A. It was not until July 1970 that District 19 I was formed with 6 zones established.  Three members of the CVLC have gone on to become District Governors.  Lion Ron Webber in 1978-1979, Lion Barry Van Dusen in 1999 – 2000 and Lion Joyce Boyle in 2017-2018.  Many Zone Chairs have come from the CVLC.
