Lions Clubs are a world renowned service organization known for their motto

                                                            “We Serve”.

The Cosmopolis Lions Club has a long standing tradition of providing many services and activities to enhance our community.

Lion Clubs cultivate passionate members that are driven by their passion to be of service to their communities. Lions Clubs are the ones at the forefront the leaders of the model that brings success to individuals, groups and our community.

Every Lion Club has a governing board and caring members who envision the direction and assess the purpose for the club within our individual community and around the world. This includes the Lions mission objectives, budgeting, strategic planning and a vast number of activities for individuals and communities to enjoy. Lions Club members, all 1.4 million of them, have a deep belief that what they do and the programs they create have the power to positively affect people’s lives.

They are also committed to using every resource at their disposal to make a positive caring difference. Although every chapter may have their own agenda and focus, the overall goal of every Lions Club is to create solutions that will address the most pressing social and economic needs in their community. Along with the on-the-ground efforts like service projects, educational programs, and fund-raising initiatives,

Lions Clubs also provide leadership and enrichment opportunities for their members. Lions Clubs are organizations made of passionate members who are relentless in their pursuit of creating opportunities for those in need and support our community.

Through pioneering development projects, providing service programs for those in need, Lions Clubs demonstrate the power of innovation, networking, and cooperation.

Lions have a dynamic history. Founded in 1917, we are best known for fighting blindness, but we also volunteer for many different kinds of community projects - including caring for the environment, feeding the hungry and aiding seniors and the disabled.

Lions give sight. By conducting vision screenings, equipping hospitals and clinics, distributing medicine and raising awareness of eye disease, Lions work toward their mission of providing vision for all. We have extended our commitment to sight conservation through countless local efforts and through our international SightFirst Program, which works to eradicate blindness.

Lions serve youth. Our community projects often support local children and schools through scholarships, recreation and mentoring. Internationally, we offer many programs, including the Peace Poster Contest, Youth Camps and Exchange and Lions Quest.

Lions award grants. Since 1968, the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) has awarded more than US$700 million in grants to support Lions humanitarian projects around the world. LCIF was also ranked the number one nongovernmental organization in a 2007 study by The Financial Times.

Lions help during disasters. Together, our Foundation and Lions are helping communities following natural disasters by providing for immediate needs such as food, water, clothing and medical supplies – and aiding in long-term reconstruction.
