Back to School Program

Thank you to everyone who supported the Back To School Backpack program.  Through your generosity, today we donated 4 complete backpacks and $100 gift cards; Jim Humphreville  added a 5th complete backpack and gift card and Bob Young donated 2 backpacks and school supplies! Thanks to Joan Bielizna who kept the list moving along!  Above is a picture of the backpacks just waiting to get into the school building!

Special thanks to our two backpack angels for their donation to purchase gift cards and to all who donated school supplies and money.  A+ Lions! Thank you!

Back To School - 18 Years And Counting!

What a project!  Started in 2001, Lions have been enthusiastic backpack participants for 18 years!  This year, we are supplying 3 youngsters from Park Avenue School with backpacks full of school supplies and a gift card for clothing.

Over the years, two very, very generous Lions (who wish to remain anonymous) have purchased the $100 gift cards for the students. They deserve our thanks and gratitude. It is so heartwarming to see our collective spirit come shining through. Thanks Joan Bielizna for assisting with the program and to Lion Jim Humphreville who “adopted” a student himself and Bob Young who filled two backpacks with lots of school supplies.

Thank you Lions. We will be collecting donations and supplies through the Steak Roast on August 9.
