The Dubuque Noon Lions have been involved in the Kid Sight program in partnership with the University of Iowa, Department of Ophthalmology for the past seven years. The Kid Sight program offered free to children 2-5 years in the daycares, head start and preschools in the Dubuque area. This year (2011) the club visited 50 different sites and screened 1433 children. 55 children were found to have same vision problems and were referred to an eye care professional. For more informant regarding Kid Sight, contact Lion Jane Steele at 563-580-4856.

This year the Dubuque Noon Lions Club is providing Collection Centers to gather used and old eyeglasses and hearing aids. These Collection Boxes are at two of the Hy-Vee Stores in Dubuque, Iowa. First one is located left of the Pharmacy Entrance in Asbury and the second one is on Locust Street left of the Main Entrance. The eyeglasses and hearing aids collected will be transported to the Lions Eye Glass Recycling and Hearing Aid Center to be reworked and then provided to those in need. From year to date the Dubuque Noon Lions Club collected a total of 6,194 pairs of eye glasses and 71 pairs of hearing aids with your help.

A BIG THANK-YOU TO ALL from the Dubuque Noon Lions Club.
