Club members have fun at their Loco Perro meeting

The EH Village Lions were sponsored by the East Hampton Lions Club and chartered in 1992.  For over 20 years we have been making a difference in our community.

-Our favorite school projects:

  • PediaVision for pre-schoolers.  This project provides free eye screening to preschool children throughout our area.  In 2013 we screened 106 children, referring 6 for further sight evaluations before they entered full time school.
  • At the elementary school level we sponsor a 3rd Grade Essay Contest with the Memorial School which encourages outstanding writing skills for beginning writers.
  • At the Middle School we coordinate a Lions International Peace Poster Contest with their 7th grade social studies students.  This project promotes student creativity by portraying ideals of world peace.
  • At the high school level we have been awarding an annual $1,000 Village Lions Scholarship to a high school senior who has exemplified service to their community.

-Community projects include the “Citizen of the Year” where we honor a citizen for outstanding contribution to our community.

-Our successful fundraisers include:

  • the Belltown Winter Wonderland silent auction of holiday items to raise money for the East Hampton Food and Fuel Banks.
  • MadHatter Tea Party where attendees enjoy an afternoon of fine finger foods, tea, and entertainment.

-We support our Connecticut District 23-C and International Lions hearing and sight related projects and worldwide initiatives.
