The Lions Club of eThekwini South was officially granted its charter on 21st February 2010. The club is based in Amanzimtoti, which is a town in the southern part of the eThekwini Municipality, about 30km, south of central Durban in the province of Kwa-Zulu-Natal, South Africa.
Our club is part of District 410C, part of Multiple District 410. The Multiple District forms part of Lions Clubs International along with other Districts and Multiple Districts from across the globe.
The eThekwini South Lions Club charter members consisted of twenty eight dedicated individuals namely -Brian Botes, Louise Breedt, B. J. Buthelezi, Jonathan Born, Glen Fryer, Mark Geyer, Brian Hards, Kryn Haus, Johann Laufs, , Lawrie Phillips, Jaco Pienaar, Sean Mellon, Dinesh Ramautar, Charles Reece , Thomas Rohde, Louise Rutherford, Dumisane Shoba, Eddie Schoeman, Neville Slee, Gareth Smith, Lee Vaughn, Kathy Van Dalen, Willem Van Dalen, Wikus Van Zyl, Elma Visser, Herman Visser and Kathleen Wood. Andy Nilsen was appointed as the Charter President.
We are extremely proud of our association with the International Association of Lions Clubs, the largest and most successful service organization in the world.
