DUCK RACE - 2011!

EXMOUTH LIONS CLUB

On a perfect Easter Sunday afternoon, local families and visitors gathered to watch our popular Annual Duck Race - then we received word that the local Fire & Rescue crew couldn't make it because there had been 'a shout'.
Undaunted, at 3pm Town Crier Roger led the count-down as we tipped 1000 (plastic!) ducks into the boating lake.  In the absence of the firemen, two cadets from the local 299 (Exmouth) Squadron ATC put on waders to help shift any 'stragglers' across the pond.  All the cadets who helped are a credit to 299 Squadron, Exmouth and the ATC.

Our thanks to Chris Wright and his staff at the EXMOUTH FUN PARK for letting us use their facilities.

We are pleased to report that the event raised £883:54 (after prizes) towards our Welfare / Charity account, which will mainly be used to help those in genuine need within the local community.

Thank you to everyone who helped or contributed.  We appreciate your support.
