EMOUTH LIONS CLUB     EXMOUTH LIONS CLUB - The Lions motto is: 'WE SERVE'

Our club 'chartered' in June 1997 with 44 members.  The first meeting was held at The Imperial Hotel, Exmouth, which was our meeting place for several years thereafter.  One reason for forming was because the then Exmouth Lions Club was a male only club, and we felt there was more than enough support from the ladies to change this.  Our name in those days was Clyst Vale (Exe Valley) Lions Club.

As we became established in Exmouth, we decided it was time for a name change to reflect our ties with the town so, in 2000, we were renamed Exmouth (Clyst Valley) Lions Club, to prevent any confusion with the original Exmouth Lions Club.  By now, we had moved to our present meeting place at The Royal Air Forces Association Club (RAFA) in Exmouth.

When the other Exmouth club closed, we were formally renamed Exmouth Lions Club in July of 2009.

Now well established in Exmouth, our Annual Duck Race and Santa Sleigh are just two events locals and visitors alike look forward to.

Behind the scenes the money we raise goes to many good causes.  From a few pounds to help a person in need, to a large donation following a national or international disaster - we try to do our bit.

For those less fortunate than ourselves, we often provide help - be it providing helpers with the stalls at Stallcombe House's Annual Fayre; taking the learning disabled for a fun day out; helping people with hospital appointments, or organising an annual disco for the local homes for the learning disabled.

All this is made possible by the dedication and hard work of our members and the continued support of various agencies such as the RAFA Club, the Exmouth Journal, the local Fire & Emergencies service, No 299 (Exmouth) Squadron, ATC and, most important of all, the people of Exmouth and our visitors.  We thank you all!
