Falls Church Tree Fest opens next Friday, Dec. 12, at 5:30 p.m. at the Falls Church Hilton Garden Inn, located at 706 W. Broad St., Falls Church. Several nonprofits and businesses and The Falls Church Lions Club have decorated trees that will be on display at the new hotel through Sunday, Dec. 14 at 5 p.m.
At the end of the festival on Dec. 14 the trees will be auctioned with the proceeds from the tree sale going to either the nonprofit that decorated the tree or to nonprofit of the participating business’ choosing.
Washington Group Solutions purchased a tree to decorate and auction off on behalf of the American Cancer Society. Other organizations participating in the event include Creative Cauldron, Tinner Hill Heritage Foundation, Aurora House and Falls Church Education Foundation.
The festival is open until 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13 and opens at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14. Admission to the festival is $1, with all proceeds going to the participating organizations.
Silent auction bids can be placed on trees at the event or on the website, fallschurchtreefest.com. Winners will be announced on Sunday, Dec. 14.
