Below is a letter that the Fennimore Lions Club received from the State Secretary just after receiving their charter in 1961, and also a list of the charter members.

Dear Fellow Lions:
It was indeed a pleasure to work with you on the successful organization of your Lions Club.  Thanks for your splendid cooperation. Congratulations on your unanimous election to the Club's leading administration offices.

Keep in touch with your sponsoring Lions Club, particularly their President, and your District Officers. Hold your club and board meetings regularly, punctually within the prescribed agenda, and with interesting programs planned ahead by your program committee. Keep all your members busy, interested and active. Collect your dues regularly and see to it that your Secretary sends his monthly reports on time. Be sure to settle your District and International per capita dues without delay upon the receipt of the statement of account. Build your membership carefully and representatively always bearing quality in mind and civic mindedness as paramount pre-requisites. These are very important matters necessary for an outstanding, active and successful Lions Club.

I attach herewith, to your Secretary's letter, and please share it together, a copy of the Organization Report, and a list of your present charter members. You have an excellent nucleus of representative civic minded leaders in your community in your membership to work with. We are sure that under your efficient leadership and guidance, and with the full cooperation of all your members, your Lions Club will, before long prove itself to be most valuable factor in the civic progress and advancement of your community.

Please do not hesitate to call on your Sponsoring Club, your Zone chairman, your Deputy Governor, your District Governor, your State Office and Lions International, for any service in the continued growth, smooth functioning and successful activity of your Lions Club. We are all at your Service
