SIGHT CONSERVATION

 Local Conservation Committee meets with applicants to review needs for eye examinations and eyeglasses.

Some applicant are referred to Alabama Sight Conservation for procedures and assistance outside our local organizations abilities.

CAMP SEALE HARRIS

A youth camp for children with diabetes operated by Southeastern Diabetes Association to help train children with diabetes to live a normal life.

SUGAR-BUSTERS

Florence Downtown Lions in conjunction with several other civic organizations and operated by Southeastern Diabetes Association,  began this year a program similar to those in place at Camp Seale Harris for local families. 

USED EYEGLASSES COLLECTION

Collecting used eyeglasses and redistributing through the Alabama Lions Sight Conservation program allows many people to get a pair of glasses for the first time. Many of these recipients are able to see for the first time in their lives. 

We have a collection box where you can drop off your old discarded eyeglasses at Walmart in Florence, AL

MEALS ON WHEELS

Local Lions Club members donate their time to deliver meals to many local area people through this program.

Meals On  Wheels can use more volunteer help. 

SALVATION ARMY FOOD DRIVE

Florence Downtown Lions members donate their time to assist the Salvation Army by "Ringing the Bell" and bagging groceries before Christmas each year.

FUNDRAISING

Through your donations and by your purchase of products such as Mops, Brooms, and Peanuts from the Florence Downtown Lions Club we are able to help many people through the above projects. We are always looking for individuals like us who are willing to give of their time and resources to help others.
