“Elijah’s Jar” is an emergency food closet for the people living on the Foresthill Divide.It is an outreach ministry of the Foresthill Christian community. We receive regular donations from the following churches: Calvary Bible, Calvary Foresthill, Canyon View, Foresthill Adventist, New Hope, and Rivers of Life, plus service organizations such as the Foresthill Lions Club, but these regularly committed donations cover less than one third of our current monthly expenses.
We believe that Jesus Christ has called us to help provide for the needs of the disadvantaged. Since it’s opening in March of 2003, our food closet has served over 400 families. We are currently serving over 300 people per month, and with the ever-rising cost of living, more people are seeking our help each month. We have recently seen a significant increase in families with children and seniors. Last year alone, we saw a 100% increase in the number of people served.
Elijah’s Jar, which is located at 24410 Main Street behind Dr. Woodson’s dental office, is currently open on Wed. 10:30 – 12:30 and Friday 1:30 – 3:30. Contact: (530) 367-3085.
We Need Your Help!!!
If you are aware of local people who need emergency assistance with food or clothing, please pass on this information to them.
Of course, we are always in need of support. Please help with
non-perishable food or monetary donations. A list of the most needed items is included below. You can also help by donating good, gently used clothing, and Worton’s grocery stamps.
Our current goal is to attract an expanded number of monthly donors to compensate for the shortfall in funds that accompany the increased usage. The monthly shortfall is nearly $2000. Can you pledge $10, $20, or $100 per month? A one time donation would also be appreciated. All monetary donations are tax deductible and a detailed tax statement will be
mailed to you in January. We appreciate it if you'd provide the following information with your donation so we can send you a receipt.

~ Healthy cereals (not sugar coated)
