FROM THE PRESIDENT

The Lions Club of Frenchs Forest, now in its 50th year of community service continues to be a strong, active club of thirty members, including one of the original charter members, and is well respected in the community. We are looking forward to continuing with our current and new achievements over the next few years.

We are a member Club of Lions International which meets the needs of  local communities around the world with 46,000 clubs and 1.35 million members in 206 countries and Geographical areas making us the world's largest service club organization by providing grant funding and developing programs that improve lives around the world.

This year promises to be one of Lions International’s great success stories as we build upon our recent achievements. Last year, we witnessed our Lions' generous financial support, especially by giving more than US$18 million for the Japan disaster relief.

Lions SightFirst program has played a key role in reducing blindness in the world. It is only through the collaborative efforts of Lions, our partners, local health authorities, eye care professionals and other non-government organizations that SightFirst has been able to help 30 million people have improved or restored vision. Through two fundraising campaigns Lions are investing US$415 million to service even more people in need throughout the world.

Last year the Club has been active with over $35,000 being raised and donated to various local charities and disaster relief programs.

The Club meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6.45pm for 7.00pm at Belrose Bowling Club on Forest Way, Belrose.
