Second Oldest Lions Club in California

Fresno Host Lions Club

Since its inception on October 9, 1920,  the Fresno Host Lions Club has supported hundreds of organizations in a variety of ways. Most frequently such support involves financial donations and Host Lions are proud of the fact that collectively we have donated well over 1 million dollars to organizations and individuals in need at a particular time.

In addition, the Fresno Host Lions Club has joined many other Lions Clubs worldwide seeking to reduce and eliminate blindness and deafness in parts of the World where it is still a significant problem. Lions Internationally have also come to the aid of countries and geographic areas when catastrophic events have occurred that they were unable to deal with. Recent illustrations of this are Hurricane Katrina, the Sri Lanka tsunami devastation, Japan and Haitian Earthquakes, and the Bay Area gas line explosions and subsequent home devastation. We have also helped the following: Lions Eye Foundation, Eye Exams & Glasses for Needy Children, Bearskin Meadows Diabetic Youth Camp, Poverello House, Mario Olmos Scholarship Fund, Lions Wilderness Camp for the Blind, City of Hope Cancer Research, Valley Center for the Blind, to name a few……..

Lions are Ready to help

Whenever a Lions club gets together, problems get smaller. And communities get better. That's because we help where help is needed – in our own communities and around the world – with unmatched integrity and energy.

We are one of the most effective service club organizations. We get the job done.

Everywhere we work, we make friends. With children who need schoolbooks, with seniors who need transportation and with people we may never meet.

We're led by talented, dedicated volunteer leaders from around theworld. And, we're supported by the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), which helps to fund Lions humanitarian projects.

Become a Lion

Right now, Lions are improving communities around the world. We're meeting to plan a local project. We're sponsoring international exchanges for young people. We're bringing clean drinking water to a remote village. We're building. We're sharing. We're repairing. And we're having fun while doing it!

There are many reasons to become a member. As a Lion, you'll:

• Help your community
• Gain valuable skills
• Make an impact on people's lives, both
   locally and internationally
• Learn to be a leader – and lead a
   respected organization
• Network with business people in your
   community and around the world
• Energize your life and have fun

You'll grow personally and professionally. And you'll know that what you do is worthwhile and appreciated.

Lions are groups of service-minded men and women who are interested in improving their communities. We are  young people, families and Baby Boomers alike. To become a Lion is to become an active volunteer, a member of a respected international organization, a leader in your community and a friend to people in need.

To become a Lion, you must be of legal majority, good moral character and good reputation in your community.

Membership is by invitation, so contact us today or come to one of our meetings to see if Lions Clubs is a good fit for you!
