Meetings

Many years ago, when my niece was 9 years old, she had a very strange infection that transcended to her left eye. The doctors could not figure out what it was nor how to treat it. Financially, her parents could not afford an eye specialist. The Lions Club in Arkansas stepped in  as they always do, and paid for full eye medical attention. They also provided a Glass Eye Shell to make both eyes look the same. The left eye became the size of a pea and no sight so the Glass Shell was a God send gift from the Lions Club. My niece is now age 48 and has had many medical eye treatments that the Lions Club has financially funded for her over the years. She just told me that the Lions Club has always been on "stand-by" for her. God bless the Lions Club. I'm not finished yet. When my daughter was about 9 months old I noticed that she would pick up this particular toy and look inside of it ONLY with her right eye, never with her left eye. Her primary doctor sent me, my husband and our little girl to this eye specialist . Well.....the eye doctor examined her eyes and said that he wanted to ask his father (they shared an office) to examine her also. He did and very casually told us that she is totally blind in that eye and nothing could be done; ever! Well----I fainted; my husband caught the baby as she slide off my lap. It was horrible to hear. We were referred to another eye specialist and the Lions Club of San Bernardino, California, stepped in and financially helped us. She had to have eye exams every 6 months plus many different procedures. The Lions Club has always stepped in. My daughter is 36 years old now; still has to have eye treatments and the Lions Club is still called upon. From me and my sister and our children----God Bless the Lions Club. The members are so great and very well blessed.
