THE GROESBECK LIONS CLUB 18th ANNUAL CAR SHOW A GREAT SUCCESS
The 18th Annual Groesbeck Lions Club Car Show was held on June 25, 2016 in the Groesbeck City Park off of Hwy 164 on the west side of Groesbeck. The Groesbeck Lions Club would like to thank all of our Car Show Sponsors for their support.
The Groesbeck Lions Club is about SERVICE and contributes to their community, state, nation, and internationally through several service projects. Some of those projects are:
PURCHASING EYEGLASSES FOR GROESBECK ISD CHILDREN WHO CANNOT AFFORD THEM
PROVIDING SCHOLARSHIPS FOR TWO GROESBECK HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS EVERY YEAR.
PROVIDING VOLUNTEERS TO READ TO PRE-K CLASSES AT H. O. WHITEHURST ELEMENTARY IN GROESBECK.
SUPPORTING GROESBECK HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS THROUGH THE "GOAT BAACKER" PROGRAM
SUPPORT STUDENTS AT GROESBECK ISD THROUGH THE ANNUAL SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE
PROVIDES FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND SEND LOCAL CAMPERS TO THE TEXAS LIONS CAMP IN KERRVILLE, TEXAS, A NO-CHARGE CAMP FOR CHILDREN WITH PHYSICAL DISABILITIES, DOWN SYNDROME, AND TYPE-1 DIABETES.
FINANCIAL AND VOLUNTEER SUPPORT FOR THE "SANTAS TOY BANK" IN GROESBECK.
FINANCIAL AND VOLUNTEER SUPPORT FOR THE CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES "RAINBOW ROOM" IN GROESBECK
COMMUNITY SUPPORT THROUGH A DONATION TO THE ANNUAL GROESBECK "FAMILY NIGHT OUT"
COMMUNITY SUPPORT THROUGH A DONATION TO THE MAFFETT MEMORIAL LIBRARY IN GROESBECK TO PURCHASE NEEDED BOOKS
COMMUNITY SUPPORT PROVIDING VOLUNTEERS AND FUNDS FOR THE "SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS FOOD DRIVE" IN CONJUNCTION WITH BROOKSHIRES GROCERY MARKET IN GROESBECK.
COLLECT USED EYEGLASSES TO BE SENT TO THE TEXAS LIONS EYEGLASS RECYCLING CENTER IN MIDLAND, TEXAS. GLASSES THEN PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE TO THOSE IN NEED IN THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES.
NATIONAL SUPPORT FOR DISASTER RELIEF THROUGH DONATIONS TO THE LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION, THE #1 RATED CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION IN THE U.S.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR NUMEROUS OTHER LIONS CHARITIES SUCH AS, TEXAS LIONS FOUNDATION, CENTRAL TEXAS LIONS EYE BANK IN MANOR, TEXAS, LEADER DOGS FOR THE BLIND, LIONS WORLD SERVICES FOR THE BLIND, AND LIONS EFFORTS AGAINST DRUGS.
