Club Projects

(1)  Each Fall the Grove Hill Lions sells the traditional 2.5lb and 5 lb bags of green shelled peanuts.  Each bag of peanuts that you purchase, you sponsor the Alabama School of the Blind.

(2)  The first Monday of each month the Grove Hill Lions are responsible for picking up trash along the mile stretch between Bumper's Fast Track convience store and Dunn's convience store.

(3)  The Grove Hill Lions are responsible for bringing in the "Eye Bus."  The bus visits the area schools where the Lions assist in testing the children's eyes.  There have been hundreds of people who have benefited from this free service.

(4)  A couple of times a year the Grove Hill Lions will hold road blocks where donations for the club is encouraged and accepted.

(5)  One of our projects we have is taking care of the Laurie Carelton Park in town.  We make sure that the park is clean and that all the shrubs and trees are manicured.  We take pride in our town and we want to help create a clean safe environment for our people and even our visitors that come through our town.

We just completed installing a cigarette butt hut at the entrance to the park.  We would appreciate everybody's cooperation in helping us keep our park clean smiley

  • Here is a letter from our Mayor Jerry Newton for the work we have been doing.
