STUDENT VISION SCREENING - In cooperation with the Burgaw, NC, Lions Club, we organized a program of vision screening of Pender County school students. In 2005, over 1500 students were screened, and many were found to have vision problems and were referred for professional followup.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM - The Hampstead Lions Club awards scholarships to Topsail High School seniors each year. This year, we awarded scholarships totaling $10,000.

VISION VAN - The Hampstead Lions Club sponsors an annual visit by the North Carolina Lions Foundation Vision Van.

LIONS QUEST - The Hampstead Lions Club has sponsored the introduction of the Lions QUEST Program into the Pender County school system.

OTHER CAUSES -

• Christmas Food baskets for visually impared persons.
• Annual donation of large-print books to the public library.
• Support of the Eastern Area Radio Reading Service.
• Support of the Boys & Girls Home, Lake Waccamaw.
• Eye glass collection.
• Implemented File of Life (www.folife.org)
