Meetings

The Hardscrabble Lions of Streator support the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) which provides humanitarian relief around the world whenever disasters occur and the Lions of Ilinois Foundation which provides services to 13 different programs throughout Illinois.  We also help with the visually and hearing impaired in our community by providing vision and hearing exams free of charge to those in need, and when applicable, provide them with glasses or hearing aids.

We sponsor a hearing or vision impaired youth to summer camp, collect used eye glasses and hearing aids, maintain a flower bed and retaining wall at River Park, participate in Adopt-A-Highway, present food baskets at Thanksgiving, donate school supplies to local schools, support the American Red Cross, United Way and ring bells at Christmas for the Salvation Army.  We support our high schools with their post-prom parties, we assist at Engle Lane Theatre and Streator Unlimited and we have taken on the flag project displaying flags along streets downtown during various times of the year.  We raised $24,000 and constructed a dog park at the James Street Recreation Ares in Streator as a legacy to our club's support of our community and the 100th Anniversary of Lions Clubs International.  We also give to many other deserving organizations and local charities throughout the year.
