The Lions Club of Harrison continues to serve their community since 1951. They are your friends and neighbors volunteering to help those underprivileged as well as reaching out to the visually impaired. The Harrison Club is part of Lions International, the world's largest service organization. They support and provide financial aid to the Lions district, state, and international sight projects and are also involved in community programs. Each year the Club provides scholarships to college bound students from Harrison High School, as well as sponsor a little league baseball team. In addition to these projects they also provide eye exams and eyeglasses to the needy in their town. This is all possible through the efforts of the volunteers which hold fund-raisers to support their projects. The club also collects used eyeglasses that can be recycled. Recently the club loaned two eye readers to the Harrison Public library as well as the Harrison Senior Citizen Center. Each year approx. $10,000.00 is raised which is given out in the form of donations to various organizations. Below are most of the projects that the club supports.
