Our club is always open to those who truly want to help improve their community. There are various ways to serve your fellow man; contact a Lion to learn what we offer.
We are taking part in the Marathon-in-a-Month as the Lions Club team--T-shirts and all. The Lions team, complete with our REAL, two-pawed Lions, showed up in force and included several non-Lions walking with us, one of them being Bella Dennis of our Diabetes panel discussion. Kudos to the community for coming out to improve their health and help defeat diabetes. Keep on walking folks. We gave out all the Strides pins we had. We'll have to order more for the next walk!!!
Kidsight screening is active again. We have done several daycares, are currently working at the elementary Kindergarten registrations, will screen at the library Storytime on the 25th and then do Pre-School screening early next month. If anyone out there knows of children ages 1 year up to 6 years who haven't been screened, please contact Ann Young at 721-3799. We really do want to eliminate preventable blindness and this is one way all of us can help.
Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with more than 1.3 million members in approximately 45,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.
