That holds true not only with trees but also with our sight projects, disaster relief and youth programs. “WE BELIEVE” is so strong and powerful that it sweeps up others and channels their energies and resources to our goals. Let us continue to reach out to others and plant seeds of partnerships among goodhearted non-lions.”

GREETINGS FROM LION PRESIDENT CHUCK:

Are you still an active member of the Northwest Lions Club?

If yes, great and please continue to do so. I do not take your current participation as a given, but as a sign that you feel you are doing something to help others. Those who attend meetings, pay their dues, make contributions via donating gifts, or wrapping presents, or delivering toys etc. are acting out the “We Serve” philosophy.

If no, why not is the query? Are we not active enough for you or do you have too much to do that prohibits any level of involvement? Are the dues too high or is our meeting location/time/place not convenient for you?  I have seen a bit of increase in meeting attendance now that we meet only once a month but since we currently are not involved in a major fundraiser like cooking chickens or a golf tournament, do we need to have an ongoing project to get you active?

Our bingo application with the state to be considered a charity is nearly complete (waiting on securing a bond), we are going to be allowed to continue selling first aid kits as we want (and may I thank those who ordered some the first round?), but we do not have anything on the radar, other than continuing to collect eyeglasses (which I hope each one of us does). We continue to help students needing eye exams and glasses when asked and we will sponsor a camp student this summer. Our Lions Camp does have a current work day scheduled soon and we do have our local convention in town on the 21st, two things open to any Lion. And, if you read the latest Lion magazine, you could plant a tree or two (or more).

We all do what we can, based upon health, finances, time etc; I hope that each of you remains a Lion, and participates as much as you can.

I am open to any feedback on the above, just email me at c.davidson67@att.net or bring something up at our April 11th meeting.
