CLUB MEETING PROGRAMS:

LIGHTHOUSE FOR THE BLIND:

Program will be presented by Lion Ron Chene, Elected Director, District 2-S2., Wednesday, September 28th, at the Hot Dog Shop. Lion Ron is a member of The Woodlands Lions Club.

Each District Lion pays $1.00 to the Activity Fund, and 1.00 to the Operations Fund.  These funds support the education and finding jobs for Lighthouse visually impaired clients. You will certainly want to hear about the annual Dragon Boat Races.

BOB DOWDEN MEMORIAL DINNER:

All proceeds go to the Texas Lions Camp. Location: Memorial Herman Northwest: 1635 North Loop West, South Tower Conference Room. 6:00P.M.: Tickets $15.00.  All proceeds to the Texas Lions Camp.  

Special:  2 tickets for $25.00 until September 7, 2011.  Contact Betty Ezell – 713-849-0490.

Also needed: Auction items both Live and Silent.

THE YEAR OF ONE MILLION TREES:

This year I am asking Lions to plant 1 million trees. This will be a great public service, they are vital to the health of our planet. It will take all Lions working together to accomplish this goal. So, Lions, state planning And start planting!

 TREE PLANTING EVENT:

September 10th; City of Houston’s Eco Bash commemorating the 10th anniversary of September 11th from 8;00-11:00a.m.: Volunteers are needed to help plant 3,000 trees along Brays Bayou. For Additional information AND to register to volunteer please contact Lion Charlotte Wade: charlottewade@live.com. Charlotte Wade is President of Houston Spring Branch Lions Club.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN: WE HAVE A PROBLEM!    

Last year the Lions Clubs in Texas lost more than 1500 members. Do you realize that is almost our entire membership in District 2-S2??      

At this rate, there will be no Lions in Texas in 20 YEARS. When was the last time YOU asked someone to become a Lion?
