Launching of Reading Action Program Campaign

Pre-school to Grade School on July 01, 2012, Sunday

At Brgy. Tap-oc day Care Center, Iloilo City Philippines

In July 1, 2012, Iloilo City (Host) Lions Club, District 301-B1 launched the Reading Action Program Campaign in response to the challenge of our Lions Clubs International President Wayne A. Madden to address inequalities related to literacy, which forms the foundation for education and social development.

The Iloilo City (Host) Lions Club selected a project that focuses on reading and school readiness to help prepare young children to succeed in school.

Iloilo City (Host) Lions Club President Jay Victor E. Mabilog with future Leo child volunteer Andrew Joaquin Palmares Mabilog spearheaded the phonics reading and storytelling to the first Pre-school beneficiary of the Reading Action Program Campaign at Brgy. Tap-oc Day Care Center, Iloilo City Philippines.

Donation of Basic Phonics Reader Book and Kids storybooks which kids immediately took time after the orientation and lecture to read.  They were very happy to see hardbound storybooks of different titles than the usual fairy tales and you can see in their eyes that hope for a brighter learning experience is within their reach through our Lions Clubs Reading Action Program.
