LIONS INTERNATIONAL

My dear fellow Lions of KWE,

I am indeed honoured to be elected President once again, of the Lions Club of Kandivali Western Express. Fourteen years have passed since formation of this club and it is a long way and a meaningful one. It’s a great privilege to serve as your club’s president.

First and foremost I thank the nomination committee for having considered me to be the President for the year 2023-2024.  I thank all my members to have accepted my Presidentship the for current Lion year. I want to particularly mention the name of my mentor and guide Ln. Dr. Vijay Agarwal along with Ln. Dr. Kavita Agarwal, who have been supportive to me at every stage of my life.  Ofcourse, they have been supportive to everyone in this club. They are keeping this club highly motivated, bringing in harmony and dedication among members to work for the progress of the club and community.

The Lions’ motto “We Serve” has united the members and cultivated a tradition of service for the elderly, the needy and the community at large. Action speaks better than words! Throughout the years, we have tailor-made a wide variety of service projects to provide the support required by different sectors. We serve with our Heart , we serve with passion and with love!

As the newly elected president, I vow to extend our service and bring the Lion spirit to new heights. I am blessed with the support of my members and I beg the support of every one who have heard our story!

But I might not have become president or even become a dedicated Lion if it were not for how my club treated me. From my first day as a Lion my club treated me like a family member, caring for me, encouraging me, doing what was best for me. Our clubs need to treat our members like family. Care for them, nurture them, lookout for them. Give them projects they can handle, projects they are interested in. Our clubs should be like families.

The source of our strength in our clubs is the relationships we have with one another. We need to believe in one another and take care of one another like families do. If we do this, we will have no problems with retention. Our clubs will be full of members who are enthusiastic about service.

Besides a family approach and family participation in clubs, we want to focus on Leos, leadership and public relations.

We want to plant trees, Love trees, and let us all support our Leos theme project of “#Chipkotree” and participate in this.  This will create awareness among the community the importance of planting trees. Let us support Leo movement in full strength.

I believe that one person can make a difference. I believe in the power of Lions clubs and districts to improve their communities. I believe we will reach new heights with courage, commitment and action. I believe 2023-24 will be a remarkable year for Lions, and I look forward to planting seeds of success that will flower for future generations of Lions and the people we serve.

 Thanking you ,

Ln V. Vaidyanathan
President LCKWE
