Various activities was organized by our club. Some of the important one are: 

1.   Food and Medicine Distribution Program: Food and Medicine Distribution program was organized on 25 January, 2014. The program was held at Matathirtha Old Age Home, Matathirtha, Kathmandu. The food and medicine distribution program was focused on supporting food provision (ration) and first-aid kit with general medicine. The food and medicine was handed by MJF Lion Bhugol Sherchan, 1st Vice District Governor, MJF Lion Bal Krishna Burlakoti, District Chief Advisor, Lions Club International, District 325 B1, Nepal and Lion Ram Bahadur Chettri, President, Lions Club of Kathmandu Lazimpat Chautari to Mr. Ram Thapa, President,Management Committee, Matathirtha Old Age Home. The event was witnessed by the elder who are residing at elder home, Lions of the Lazimpat Chautari and Members of Working Committee of Matathirtha Old Age home. Including consumption goods, towel was also handed to each elder living over there.

2.  Monthly General Meeting: Regular monthly meeting was conducted at Nepal Himalayan Voyages, Panipokhari and Himalayan Dreams, Lazimpat, Kathmandu

 

3.  Charity Show – Helping hands to elder home:  On 23 December 2013,a charity show for raising funds for elderly people living in an elder home at Matathirtha was organized.  The function was organized to lend a hand to the elderly at Matathirtha. The event was marked by the presence of MJF Lion Yukta Prasad Shrestha and First Lady Lion Saraswati Shrestha, 1st Vice District Governor MJF Lion Bhugol Sherchan, PDG PMJF Lion Rajan Lamsal, District Cabinet Treasurer Lion Mahendra Paudel, District Chief Advisor, MJF Lion Bal Krishna Burlakoti, Lions Club International, District 325 B1 on chilling cold evening at 7.00 at Jai Nepal Hall. Most of the Lions and well-wishers of LC KTM Lazimpat Chautari from all across Nepal attended the event. The fund raised was planned to provide warm clothes and blankets to elders at Matathirtha Old Age home. Later, ration was supplied according to the necessity of elder home.

4.  Awareness on environment conservation: On 30 October, 2013 Wildlife Conservation Nepal (WCN) organized “Nature through Lens 2013” photography festival and exhibition of the 7th National WCN Nature and Wildlife Photography Competition 2012 at Hanuman Dhoka, Durbar Square, Basantapur. Mr. Ari Nathan, Director, Regional Environment, Science, technology and Health, Office for South Asia inaugurated the exhibition. Lions Club of Kathmandu Lazimpat Chautari sponsored the post card of photograph, winner of Human interaction with nature category. The photograph was taken by Deepak Tolange who teaches at Kathmandu University. The title of the image was “Melting Glaciers in the Himalayas”. It captures “Global warming and climate change has found to accelerate the melting of snow capped Himalayas leading to life-threatening situations downstream.”

 

5. Participation in different fellowship programs organized by Lions Club International, District 325 B1 Nepal

i.                    LC KTM Lazimpat Chautari participated in Quiz Contest competition of Kathmandu (Bagmati Area) organized by Lions Club International, District 325 B1 Nepal on 3rd January, 2014 Friday at AB Party Palace, Samakhushi, Kathmandu.

ii.                  President, Lion Ram Bahadur Chettri and fellow lions from Lazimpat Chautari participated in Grand Fellowship program and Dream Achiever Award Program of Kathmandu (Bagmati Area) organized by Lions Club International, District 325 B1 Nepal on 4rth January, 2014 Friday at AB Party Palace, Samakhushi, Kathmandu.

iii.                After successful organization and conclusion of ISAAME, President Lion Ram Bahadur Chettri, 1st VP, Lion Raj Kishore (Ravi) Shrestha and MCC Lion Suresh Bhatta attended different programs at Hyatt Regency organized by Lions Club International, Nepal.
