Who Are Lions?

Lions meet the needs of local communities and the world. Lions share a core belief – community is what we make it.

Are you community minded? We need you on our team!

If you’re interested in volunteering, leading projects, networking and having fun – you can do all of this and more as a Lions club member. As a Lion, you’ll perform local volunteer work to improve your community – and communities around the world.

Join an International Network of Volunteers and Friends

As a Lions club member, you’ll join a local group of service-minded men and women who are doing local volunteer work to support your community – right now. You’ll also become a member of Lions Clubs International, a respected international organization, a leader in your local community and a friend to people in need.

There are many reasons to become a member. As a Lion, you will:

  • Help your community and gain valuable skills
  • Make an impact on people's lives – locally and internationally
  • Learn to be a leader – and lead a respected organization
  • Network with business people in your community and around the world
  • Energize your life and have fun

You'll grow personally and professionally. And you'll know that the community volunteer work you perform is worthwhile and appreciated.

**Our local Lions Club is a small but important part of Lions International. Each members decides how much to give in terms of time and effort to the local club and then if there is the desire, "stretch their wings" into leadership of local clubs at various levels (the Zone, The District, The Multiple District and International) If you are not a leader now, we will help you with whatever leadership level you want or just be happy that you came to help and want to be led yourself.

We gladly welcome individuals or partners, men and women (18 or older) into our club to become the people who will increase their awareness of the needs in the community around them and to the best of their ability (and with the help of their fellow members) meet the needs of people in the community.

If you want to come to a meeting just to check us out, we will welcome you in. If you can let us know you are coming, please do so by emailing us at KennydaleLionsClub@gmail.com. If not, please feel free to sit in at one of our meetings on the 2nd or 4th Monday at 7pm at the Kennydale Memorial Hall. The address is 2424 NE 27th Street, Renton, WA (near Kennydale) .

There are rare occasions that the club will be volunteering at a club activities instead of having a meeting. Please email us if you wish to confirm our location for the next upcoming meeting.

If you do attend, we'd love to hear what brought you over and how we can help you accomplish your dreams of volunteering.  We consider our "service area to be the Kennydale and Renton Highlands areas but our members can come from outside those areas. Two other Lions Clubs in Renton cover the rest of the Renton area.

So you know what our meeting will be like, we meet differently than some other Lions Clubs. Many clubs have their meeting and a meal at the same time but we do our business in a shorter meeting after the dinner hour. We conduct business at the meeting but we also weave in aspects of the personalities of club members so we get to know each other.

If you have been meaning to join any Lions Club, it is worth noting that our membersip dues are very inexpensive compared to other clubs! Come visit us soon and become part of the Kennydale Lions family!

Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.
