Congratulations to Lion Mike Cronin, who was elected incoming President for 2012-2013 year. We look forward to a very successful year under his leadership.

Thanks to the chairmen and the entire club membership for the very successful Benefit Dinner and Spring Folly food booth, our two main fund raisers each year. Both projects were very successful with record profits for our club. Which means we can help more people within the community. Thanks again to everyone involved.

Welcome to new Kernersville Lion Art Drennan! Lion Art transferred to our club from the Warrenton Lions in VA. Art is a long time Lion who has served in various capacities in his club and participated in our Benefit Dinner and Spring Folly. We welcome this dedicated Lion and his wife, Jean to Kernersville. Art's email address is: artdrennan@triad.rr.com.

Welcome also to new Kernersville Lion Leon Cameron! Lion Leon transferred to our club from the Lower Lehigh Lions in PA. He is a long time (38+ years) Lion and has held virtually every office in his club and several at the district and region level. He is a progressive Melvin Jones fellow. He jumped right in and worked both the Benefit Dinner and Spring Folly. We welcome this dedicated Lion and his wife Evelyn to Kernersville. Leon's email address is: lecam1@triad.rr.com.

Please note that the NEW address for the Lions Club website is now: www.KernersvilleLionsClub.com. Thanks to new Lion Jim King for making this simple to remember address possible.

Lion Patrick gave a program on the Pedia-Vision machine at the May 8th meeting, followed with a training session for interested Lions.

Our first pre-school vision screening was held at MSUMC on Wednesday, May 9th. Lions Bill Maurer, David McAdoo, Mike Cronin and Marvin Bare screend 30 pre-K 4-5 year olds in about one and one half hour with 4 referral letters (rejections). The teachers were very impressed with the entire process and they've asked us back for next year.

At the May 7th board of directors meeting, a 'US Flag Retirement' committee was approved as a permanent committee (under 1st VP) with Lion Don Stutts serving as Chairman.

An induction ceremony will be held at the May 22nd meeting for new Lions Joe Waugh and Jim King.

ALL Camp Dogwood tickets and money MUST be turned in by May 22nd in order to get stubs to NCLI in time to make the drawing. If you have them ready, please turn in to Treasurer Bob Hicks anytime between now and then. Don't D*E*L*A*Y*...
